Song and Chorus. 6pp. Cover illustration & lettering in b&w of unfortunate disheveled Confederate officer standing cross-eyed before the "last ditch" while three little gremlins poke fun at him. Spine wholly split with evidence of having been disbound from a period privately bound music book, Detroit "Music Dealer" circular emboss in top margin near name inked at top corner, a bit of scattered foxing, high quality rag paper. E. P. Noyes was apparently a soldier in the Civil War at the time the piece was written & composed and was listed on the rolls of Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) -- Hancock Post #150, chartered in 1884. The GAR was a veterans organization for Union Army veterans, disbanded in 1956 after the last member died in 1955. (Very Good).
