Half Leather, Very Good/No DJ, as Issued, Book is half-leather at spine and corners with a brown and cream mottled design to shiny paper over boards. Four raised bands to spine -- gilt title slightly faded. No cracking to hinges either front or back and nice red, blue and green endpapers. Wear to leather at corners and chipping of paper at edges, but book is clean and tightly bound. Pages show little to no toning. Written in French. 496 pages. | BLICHER, STEEN STINSEN E. Bindstouw; Fortallinger og Digte I Jydse Mundarter Copenhagen, C.A, Reitzel, 1882, Reprint. Leather, 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall, Very Good/No DJ, as Issued, Beautiful book in very nice, clean condition. Mustard yellow leather boards are very clean with beveled eges and beautifully ornamented at face with decorative embossed frame and much gilt. Same gilt to printing on spine and on all three page edges. Only faults are small piece missing at top spine, regluing of a small piece beneath, and corner wear. There is no cracking to the hinges, either front or back, and the brown printed endpapers are clean and lovely. The only pages that have toned are at the very front. Once the text begins there is only the faintest touch. Carl Thompsen's illustrations are wonderful and some are full page. Blicher, is a distant relative of Martin Luther, known in Danish literature as a pioneer of the novella. This volume, which was highly praised for its use of the Jutlandic dialect, is a mixture of poetry and stories. Written in the Danish language. Hard Cover with dust jacket, 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall, Fine/Very Good Wrappers, Beautiful little set of vintage German language titles, all by Richard Voss. Five volume set -- undated, but appear to be from the 1920's or 30's. Books look like new with crisp red boards featuring black and gold title boxes with exceptionally bright gilt. Top edges of pages dyed yellow as per design and clean as a whistle. Each small volume has a brown paper wrapper with cut-outs at spine to show titles. Again, these are pristine. Only fault to them is some small tearing to corners of cutouts and one torn corner.
