This little gem measures a diminutive 5"x7-1/2" and is nicely illustrated with both black and white and color photos throughout. We love the way it offers a chapter on serving for the servantless householder and another for the householder with one servant!The recipes are quite wonderful and will work fine in the modern kitchen -- old-fashioned delights such as brown betty, Sally Lunn, scalloped oysters, chicken frickasee, stuffed onions, potato cakes, tea cakes, snickerdoodles, chocolate Indians, mince pie, and much more. 251 pages.
