Only fault is a closed tear to bottom front and a small wrinkle next to it, both of which almost disappear in brand new mylar cover. The charming Canadian city that is home to the Shaw Festival is enchantingly offered up in a series of beautiful full page color paintings on right hand page and numerous explanatory drawings on the left with hand lettered captions on both. Bright blue boards are quite clean with bright gilt at face and just a small bit of wear to corners and crown and tail of spine. Endpapers are likewise clean with no cracking to hinges. Pages have toned only faintly and book is nicely fitted with a clear rigid-plastic cover.Measures 7"x8-1/2". The author was president of the New Brunswick Historical Society at the time of, writing shortly before the province's centennial celebration, and was considered the utmost authority on its history. He begins with the arrival of the Loyalists who departed New York after the American Revolution and proceeds forward, the text nicely accompanied by drawings of important people and sites. There is also a map at the front. Especially interesting to anyone pursuing geneaology are the lists in the back of the book of land grantees in both Parr Town and Carleton in 1783. 119 pages.
