NO AUTHOR  Automatic Numbering Machines of Every Description and Hand Stamp Supplies (Vintage Catalog No. 104)
New York, Wm. A. Force & Company. Soft Cover, Very Good/Wraps, Very Good, There's no date on this wonderful vintage catalog, but judging by the great graphics and the technology, we're inclined to place it in the 1930's. It measures 7x10" with dark green card covers and raised gilt printing and design to front. It's also designed with a hole punch at the upper left corner for hanging, so it's never far from reach! Although the front endpapers have darkened, the rest of the pages are clean as a whistle. The only external wear is at crown and tail of spine where there is a small bit of tearing. The best part is definitely the inside where there are graphics on practically every page with descriptions of products, including hand, foot and power numbering, dating and printing machines, typographical numbering machines, hand stamp supplies, stamp pads and inks, vulcanizers and accessories, check protectors, seal presses, rubber type and holders, sign markers and more. 216 pages in all.

NO AUTHOR  Baldwin Magazine (Quarterly, 1947 issue)
, Philadelphia: Baldwin Locomotive Works, 1947. /, Soft Cover. Fine/Wraps, Fine. Volume 4, Nos. 1&2. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Very 40's color cover of a young engineer sitting at the drafting board in his skyscraper office with an impressive expanse of windows showcasing the cityscape and providing a sill to show off his dazzling model trains. This is a company publication that came out quarterly. We especially loved the bold and daring statement made in the "Message from Baldwin" column, "History has shown that large national companies such as Baldwin are permanent institutions in the same sense as a library, a government, or a railroad and that nothing can destroy them." Hmmmmm . the company closed its doors in 1954, a mere seven years later! Nonetheless, in its heydey Baldwin was indeed an institution. From 1831 when Mathias Baldwin opened up shop to its demise in '54, the conmpany turned out 75,000 locomotives! Magazine is illustrated with great black and white photos and diagrams and includes articles on the five-fifteen going diesel; die hobbing; back yard railroad; testing, the key to product improvement; diesels in the meat business; and 4-8-4 type locomotives on the Western Maryland. Nice bit of locomotive nostalgia and not many of them floating around.

NO AUTHOR  Formfit In Show Business (Formfit Lingerie Sales Brochure and 33-1/3 RPM Record )
, Formfit, No Edition Stated. Very Good/ VG Record/, Quirky, fun collectible! No date on this one, but clothing on drawings would indicate late 50's to early 60's. Bright pink sales brochure was issued to the would-be Formit lingerie salesperson, or as they say on the record, "corsetiere!" Inside it says, "Join Betsy White for a preview in sound of your Show Business Career." BODTKE, HAROLD R.  The Story of Louella: Romance, History, Art and Science

Gorgeous graphics and pristine condition make this booklet advertising Louella brand sweet cream butter a visual standout. The history of buttermaking in America both prior to, and during, this period holds interest, but what especially caught our attention was the vast change in dietary practices since this booklet was issued. "Butter," the writer boldly stated, "has literally been all things to all men." Booklet measures 7x10-1/2" and is clean as a whistle inside and out. Only defect is light crease to bottom and top corners of cover. Still retains original "Occupant" sticker on rear mailed to a New Jersey address.
