Upon close examination two tell-tale signs were found -- blank stickers on two pages and a smooth neat removal of card pocket and stamp on rear free endpaper. No other markings . Book is very clean inside and out with bright blue boards showing no bumping. A collection of natural phenomenon not readily explained by scientific theories. Covers the following phenonmena: GLA, Aurora-like; GLB, ball lightning; GLD, diffuse electrical discharge; GLL, lighnting anomalies; GLM, low-level meteor-like luminous; GLN, nocturnal lights; and GLW, marine phosphorescent displays. Also includes five indices -- time-of-event, place-of-event, first-author, source and subject. Unpaginated.

Very clean inside and out with no spine crease, names or writing. Illustrated throughout with charts, photos, and graphs. Also includes tables for 3,317 asteroids. The author's goal was to make the subject more understandable to the amateur astronomer and to cover topics not discussed in Tom Gehrel's 1979 landmark book, Asteroids. Despite title, book is not overly simplistic. 208 pages. Indexed.

Measures 9"x11" and is tighly bound. Light edgewear to tan covers with light soiling to back. Toning to outer page edges. Contents clean with minor underlining and a few penciled notes. Most could be erased, but we will leave them in case they have value to the buyer. A scholarly tome on astonomy first published in 1953 and revised here. Photos, drawings and star maps. 332 pages.
