Clean and bright inside and out, but with a corner bump lower front and a juvenile ownership bookplate on the secondary title page (after the table of contents). The jacket is complete but for a price clip, and has minor extremity wear, perhaps a bit more than minor at head of spine and the adjacent area on rear panel. An unusually nice copy. Very Good+ in Very Good+ DJ.

DR. SEUSS.  The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins.
New York:, Vanguard Press,, 1938., Early printing, Hardcover. Nice early printing with modest shelf wear and wear at extremes, with loss of color but not worn through to the boards. The covers are otherwise bright and unsoiled; the interior unmarked. The jacket, with $2.50 price intact, has minor extremity wear, a few very small chips at top of back panel, and some loss of material at extremities including about a quarter inch at each spine end. The spine folds are also rubbed with some loss of color. This copy probably ca. 1943 with no mention of any other title except 'Mulberry Street'. Compare Younger & Hirsh, p. 62.
