A collection of major papers presented at an academic conference on the island of Santorini (Thera in the Bronze Age). The volcanic explosion of the island and the following tidal waves all but destroyed the Minoan civilization. The articles cover geology and vulcanism as well as art and archaeology. A beautifully produced set. The books are clean and unworn but volume II has a previous owner stamp on the front endpaper, on the map envelope, and, very lightly, on the maps in the margin. The jackets are both bright and crisp, but both have light edge wear and some wrinkling at the head of spine. The jacket of volume I has a tiny area of delamination at the top rear panel, and that of volume II has a one inch tear to the top front panel. Near Fine in Very Good + Dustjacket.

An excellent copy with minimal extremity wear, sound binding, clean and unmarked. The jacket is price clipped, moderately extremity worn. There is a small triangular chip at head of spine with a tear extending from the chip into the cover for several inches in a crescent shape. Near Fine in Good + DJ.
