Still the jacket is nearly complete with little loss of material. Bennett, a senior editor of Ebony Magazine, wrote in the book about the issues raised in the Civil Rights Movement of the 60's. A very well preserved copy with modestly toned wartime paper and very light extremity wear, but otherwise clean and soundly bound. The jacket is complete but for a tiny chip at the head of the spine and minimal loss of material at the worn upper front tip. The spine is lightly but noticeably sunned, and there is a short closed tear at top front panel. Very Good+ in Very Good+ Dustjacket. All indications of a first edition, but I have seen a copy with a decorated cover which this does not have. Perhaps the decorated cover was a presentation binding, or perhaps this is a first English edition. Very good-, None. The inscription is to Jessie Maxwell, the first black school principal in Denver.
