J.B. BURY  A History of Greece
London, Macmillan. 1963. Board, 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" Tall. The first edition was published in 1900 on the eve of Sir Arthur Evans' dramatic excavations at Knossus in Crete, and in the second edition Bury re-wrote the first chapter in light of the new discoveries. Outside of this only a few minor changes have been made to this edition. Bury was a Regius Professor of Modern History and Fellow of King's College Cambridge. Blue board with gilt lettering on spine. Vrey neat clean copy. Slight sunning of spine - but only very slight. Inscribed on half title page. Very Good.
