The first volume is a biography of Giambattista Bodoni (1740-1813), the second is a bibliography of books printed at the Bodoni press. Impresso coâ€™ Caratteri Bodoniani, Crisopoli. 1789. 4to, [xii],14,[2],142pp., engraved portrait on title and 1 engraved headpiece, nineteenth century half calf by Corfmat, marbled covers, spine gilt, t.e.g. uncut, a good copy in nice condition. The second of two editions published in 1789, though according to Brooks it was actually published in 1792. It is almost identical to the first 1789 edition which Renouard described as â€œlâ€™une des plus belles Ã©ditions de Bodoni.â€ Beautifully printed, partly in italic type. Brooks 379.
