Printed & Published by I. Clark. 1824. 4to, [i-ii]; engraved title page ;1-11,[1]pp., 34 engraved plates; [2pp., list of subscribers], with the David Bedlington Jones Tobacco Collection bookplate, several A.L.s relating to the Westminster Tobacco Box loosely inserted, cont. half calf gilt, marbled boards with matching endpapers, a nice copy. The original horn box, costing 4 pence, was presented to the Overseers in 1713 by Henry Monck. For a span of 111 years silver plates were added to the Box and Cases making this a unique memorial of some of the most remarkable occurrences relating to the history of Great Britain. The 34 engravings illustrate 43 of the silver plates affixed to the Box and Cases. Plate IX, a profile of George III, is coloured with a yellow wash.
