Peter Foden’s account is in the nature of literary or publishing detection. Packets of unbound sheets came to light in 1989 at the time Oxford University Press was closing down its printing works. There were no known finished copies of the book. The author’s story helps to unravel most of the facts. Whittington has used mould-made paper from a collection of papers acquired from OUP.
