| GLENN MILLER Rare Glenn Miller Typed Letter Signed on the Glenn Miller Stationery Dated September 30, 1942 with Rare Signed Photograph in Uniform . On Glenn Miller’s stationery with the address for the New Jersey Office as Cotswold, Byrne Lane , Tenafly , New Jersey and the New York Office as RKO Bldg, New York City , this typed letter from Glenn Miller is to the President of his fan club and reads as follows: "Dear President:This will probably be my last letter to you for the duration as I am very shortly entering the service of the U.S. Army Specialist Corps. As time does not permit me to write each Club Member personally, I am writing you with the hope that you will show my letter to as many of the members as possible. We all want you to know how much we appreciate the support and encouragement you have given our band. We are disbanding, but when the war is over we hope to have the whole gang back again - and until then good luck to all of you.Sincerely yours" Measuring 8.5 x 11 inches (approx) the letter is not in very good condition with tears, repairs, slight smudge to the signature and laid onto card. However, it is believed that this is the only letter from Glenn Miller advising his fans of his immanent entry into the US Army making this letter of historic importance. This letter is accompanied by an equally rare piece which is a signed photograph of Major Glenn Miller in uniform (c.1942-44) that has been irregularly cut and measures 4.5 x 6.0 inches (approx). The signature is mostly in the dark portion and has scratches. We believe that this is one of the few examples of a signed photograph of Major Miller in US Army uniform in existence today.
