| J.M. BARRIE The Peter Pan Alphabet London, Hodder and Stoughton. 1907, First Edition. Decorative Cloth. Ill.: Oliver Herford. A rare and wonderful book on J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan by Oliver Herford and published by Hodder & Stoughton (the publishers of Peter Pan) just one year after the first edition (1906) of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens illustrated by Arthur Rackham The original green pictorial boards are in Very Good condition with slight darkening - but still extremely clean and vivid illustration to the front and titling to the spine. As the book suggests, this is an A-Z of Peter Pan and has an illustration of a character from Peter Pan to the left representing a letter of the alphabet with related verse from Peter Pan to the right There is a crack to the joint between the Copyright Page and the Introduction "A Round Robin to J.M. Barrie" but the pages are still firmly bound in. There is a small ink stain to the fore edge of the pages - which is not serious since it does not affect the text nor the illustrations. Overall the pages are in Very Good condition A really attractive and rare book that rarely comes up for sale. Very Good/No Jacket. GBP 200.00 [Appr.: EURO 219.5 US$ 330.8 | JP¥ 28457] Book number: 000272 Click here to order or inquire at The First Edition. | ||
