| EDMUND DULAC Sindbad the Sailor & Other Stories from the Arabian Nights First Trade Edition 1914 London, Hodder and Stoughton. 1914, First Edition. Decorative Cloth. Ill.: Edmund Dulac. Published by Hodder and Stoughton in November 1914, this is the rare First Trade Edition The boards are front board and spine is highly decorated in tan background and indigo blue flowers. There is a large illustration by Dulac to the front in gilt of a gondola sailing past a castle and minarets. The title and illustrator details are in gilt in a wonderful Arabic style font that is continued onto the spine which also has an additional decoration The boards are in Very Good condition with only slight signs of fading and edge wear The endpapers continue the design from the front having a tan background and the blue indigo flower pattern. The endpapers to the front and back are clean and very attractive All the text and illustrations (black and white and colour) are beautifully presented within an elaborately decorated gold coloured border on the page. All 23 plates are present with their tissue-guards and in pristine condition to illustrate the following stories: 1. Sindbad the Sailor 2. Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp 3.
