Missing from back of Volume 2 are a large color-coded folding map ("Canals and Navigable Rivers of the United States and Canada") and a diagram comparing the profile of the New York State Barge Canal with profiles of various railroads between Buffalo and New York. Rest of maps and charts are all present. Both volumes have library stamps on all page block edges, library blindstamps on title pages. A few consecutive pages in Volume 2, just before a series of charts, have overlapping 1" tears at the bottom margin near the gutter. Pages are discolored with age at margins and starting to get brittle. Page blocks are clean and tightly bound; bindings are new. ; Professionally rebound in sturdy green cloth bindings by the Erwin Book Clinic of Cincinnati.
