To which is added, a treatise of Honour Military and Civil, according to the Laws and Customs of England by Capt John Logan. Illustrated with the Arms of the Sees of the English Bishops, and several of the Gentry. Illustrated with variety of Sculptures sutable to the several subjects; to which is added a Catalogue of the Atchievements of the Nobilitt of England, with Divers of the Gentry, for examples of Bearings. London: Printed by S. Roycroft for R. Blome. The Fifth Edition "Much enlarged with great variety of Bearings"A semi-bound copy of this Fifth Edition. Contemporary tan leather. Front board is detached. Spine and rear board are firmly attached. The whole is somewhat rubbed to the edges and corners. Some chips to the extremities. The label to the spine has vanished, leaving the title only very faintly blind stamped. The two free end papers, frontis illustration, title and first page of dedication are all present but detached. As a result, all are somewhat chipped to their edges. Title page has "London" written in contemporary hand to bottom edge, and a library number written alongside in modern biro. The rest of the book is largely clean and tidy, with a little edge wear to some pages, and occasional marks. Text block is tight and the condition of the rest very good. Some of the plates have neat tape repairs to the bottom edges. The binder has got a little confused with putting this book together! Although all present, the order of some chapters is incorrect. (see collation). Collation: [xiv], 1-317, [iii], [1]-105, 151-181 {107-150 Misplaced} [14]. Plus 19 Portraits; 104 Armorial plates; frontis. This is a big heavy book.
