Henry Pestalozzi and His Plan of Education; Being an Account of His Life and Writings; with Copious Extracts from His Works, and Extensive Details Illustrative of the Practical Parts of His Method. London: Sherwood, Gilbert and Piper, 1833. First Edition. Original cloth. A quite acceptable copy of this first edition thus (First Sherwood Edition, first ed was by J Souter in 1831). Boards are a little scuffed and worn, with fading to the spine. The spine has cracking to the rear edge. A little splitting / cracking to the top and bottom edge. Label to the spine is a little darkened. Library number to the spine. Inside, this is a library copy, with the enevitable marks and stamps. Moderate foxingto the initial pages. Title page has an owners signature to the top (J. Martin) and faded underlining to the titles. (crayon). The binding is cracked to the end of the book (pp 466 / 467) where the rear panel is almost seperated. Would benefit from repair. Collation: Xii, 468 p. : ill, front.
