With decorative engraved title page. With text printed in red and black. A "guardian letter for travellers" with vignette of the 'Three Holy Kings' tipped in at front. Contemporary embroidered dark red silk binding on wooden boards with elaborated floral decorations in silver and yellow, with brass clasps, g.e. The binding is worn and chipped at edges and small damage to upper cover but evenso a charming piece with clasps intact. Old signature on front pastedown.
