Covers moderately worn with darkening to spine, couple small stains to front cover, front cover cloth bubbled a bit at center, still quite clean internally and near very good overall.

The sack of Rome in 1527, originally led by Emperor Charles V, is told in an engaging style, drawing largely on contemporary Italian sources.

Lyon, 18 Selwood Terrace.. Covers lightly soiled, touch of fraying to spine head, much of spine gilt dulled, owner name (Helen Zimmerman, Xmas 1919) to front free endpaper. Near very good.. Scarce first edition of the hugely influential British economist's analysis of the economic consequences of the Treaty of Versailles. He served at the conference as representative for the Department of the Treasury and subsequently resigned from the Department in disagreement over the requirement for Germany to pay war reparations.
