Leather is scuffed and worn in places and there is some peeling to the leather to the rear. Cloth boards are worn and badly marked, and there are two holes in the cloth of the rear board. Internally the first fifty or so pages are loose in the binding (although not detached). The front endpaper and next blank page are badly creased, and all the loose pages are significantly worn around the edges. The hinges are cracked in several other places internally.
