The narrative volumes had only a limited amount of space for photographs so these three volumes just of photographs were published. All the photos are black and white. Volume 1 contains photos of the European war; Volume II contains photos of the war against Japan; Volume III contains photos of the war against Germany and Italy in the Mediterranean and surrounding areas. The photos are wonderful. This particular set is a 1990 reprint of a work first published in 1951. Black-cloth-covered boards with the title blind stamped on the covers and printed in silver on the spines. Published without dust jackets. 1,382 pp total, Indexes at the end of each volume. There are black splotches on two pages of Volume 1 that appear to be a publisher's defect. They do not significantly obscure the photographs. Volumes 1 and III have a slight vertical curvature.
