Each is illustrated with photographs and text - in Baltz's case, the photos all appear to be found images relating to a murder and trial in California in the 1940s. This is catalogue published for the 2000 Deutsche Guggenheim Museum exhibition of Hiroshi Sugimoto's striking "portrait" photographs of wax museum figures. While the standard cover of both the German and subsequent American edition pictured Anne Boleyn, a limited quantity of sets featuring variant cover images of each of the six wives of Henry VIII were produced in conjunction with the Berlin exhibition. This is one such set acquired directly from publisher Hatje Cantz - six copies of the same paperbound catalogue whose covers respectively illustrate Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard, Katherine Parr, and Jane Seymour. The texts for all are in German, as issued, and no slipcase was ever produced. A most handsome example of this uncommon collection still in the publisher's shrinkwrap perfect for the Sugimoto and/or House of Tudor completeist.
