It connects Buda and Pest, spanning the narrowest part of the River Danube [290 meters] in the Budapest area. It is named after Elisabeth of Bavaria, a popular queen and empress of Austria-Hungary who was assassinated in 1898. Today there is a large bronze statue of Elisabeth in the middle of a small garden at the Buda side of the bridge. Very good .
