No place (Los Angeles), Center for Living, Presumed Publisher, 1993. Unbound. Single sheet, 8 ½ by 11 inches. Printed on light green paper stock. A flyer for an event featuring the spiritual leader Ma Java, being held at the Center for Living on October 9, 1993. Based on the title, it is assumed this event was meant for the lesbian community. Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati was a spiritual leader teaching a practice rooted in Hindu philosophy and certain yoga practices. She established the Kashi Ashram in Florida in 1976 and was known for acceptance of all people. Her foundation helped sponsor AIDS education and prevention, among other causes. However, her ashram and work has been called a cult by some, with allegations of physical and emotional abuse against the ashram and her leadership. GOOD+ condition. Some creasing, curling and wrinkling along the right edge. Good .

Published by the Church of the Universal Brotherhood, although we are not sure if this was the same as the group that dropped its name in 1965 and became part of the Universalist church in the area. This issue with a know your rights column, discussing what rights you have when hassled by the police; a recipe for vegans, by someone who is tired of eating brown rice at their friends' houses, etc. GOOD condition. "Athens Aquarius, Double Issue" handwritten at the top of the front cover. Moderate to heavy browning. Faint fold crease present, with a small tear at the fore edge. Minor wrinkling. Good .
