Volodymyr Gzhytsky (1895 - 1973) was a Ukrainian author and translator, whose current novel, published in a DP camp in Germany and originally published in 1929, would provoke the severe criticism of government officials for exposing Soviet colonial policies towards other nations. He would spend many years in a Gulag concentration camp, from 1934 until 1956, before being "rehabilitated" and released. Very good .
