Green and gilt embossed leather cover. 230mm x 160mm (9" x 6"). vi, 150pp, 55pp. Illustrated with colour plate of regimental flags; b/w plates of equipment and field plans, additional charts, musical notation etc. Included within are details of bivouac and camp layout for the regiment in India; cooking equipment and recipes for the soldiers (including Crimean Kebbobs, Artillery Pie and China Chilo). Instructions for arranging the accoutrements of the barrack room, ordnance details, method of laying down kit in the field etc. Gilt embossed leather cover bears the emblem of the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers 'Quo Fata Vocant' [Wither the Fates Call].. G : in good condition. Respined and with new endpapers. Leather worn and scuffed towards extremities and spine. Spine darkened. Edge-tears to title page and some pages within have been sympathetically repaired and rebacked onto new sheets. Contents otherwise clean and tight. Aeg .
