Engraved folding frontis: "New Shire Hall, Norwich." by "Rd. Ransome". Foxed and carefully repaired at some time in the past. Printed title-page foxed. Clear English text throughout, on lightly toned paper, just a few light brown spots. Folded table inserted before index: "The Population Of Norwich, As Take in the Years 1831,1821,1811,and 1801." A well preserved copy of this scarce book. ** John Judd Sharpe was born on 20 December 1788 in Norwich, Norfolk. He married Ann Thompson on 3 September 1812 in Norwich, Norfolk. He then married Elizabeth Houghton Clipperton on 5 March 1833 in Norwich, Norfolk. He died on 24 February 1855 in his hometown at the age of 66. Family history records show that he was a printer: "Formerly Apprentice and Journeyman, to Mes Stevenson and Mutchett, Norwich, Having worked in some of the [finest] printing shops in London … ” - See 'Norfolk Chronicle 5 Jul. 1817'.
