Original dark green cloth boards, rubbed and bumped, carefully re-backed at some time in the past. Smooth spine with rubbed gilt titles: "Castle Acre - Bloom" Later plain endpapers. Previous owner's details to half title. Clear English text with good margins throughout. All engravings foxed with light offsetting. A well preserved book.

Clean English text, with just light foxing to margins.Small tear and loss to gutter of pages 14-19 . Still a well preserved copy of this scarce publication. Scarce original 19th century guide book. 12mo. pp.xx./pp.144/[2pp. - Index] + engraved folded frontis of Shire-Hall + folded table: 'The Population Of Norwich..' ( 1801-1831) . A good tight binding. Green boards. Browned printed label to front board: "Norwich In Miniature". Edges and corners rubbed and bumped. Inner hinges carefully strengthened. Engraved folding frontis: "New Shire Hall, Norwich." by "Rd. Ransome". Foxed and carefully repaired at some time in the past. Printed title-page foxed. Clear English text throughout, on lightly toned paper, just a few light brown spots. Folded table inserted before index: "The Population Of Norwich, As Take in the Years 1831,1821,1811,and 1801." A well preserved copy of this scarce book. ** John Judd Sharpe was born on 20 December 1788 in Norwich, Norfolk. He married Ann Thompson on 3 September 1812 in Norwich, Norfolk. He then married Elizabeth Houghton Clipperton on 5 March 1833 in Norwich, Norfolk. He died on 24 February 1855 in his hometown at the age of 66. Family history records show that he was a printer: "Formerly Apprentice and Journeyman, to Mes Stevenson and Mutchett, Norwich, Having worked in some of the [finest] printing shops in London … ” - See 'Norfolk Chronicle 5 Jul. 1817'.
