Color frontis "Indian Hunter" on horseback, color image on title page, plus 6 color plates in text, pp. xxxv, 345, octavo format. Book has been rebound in the past in black buckram, but with the original blindstamped and gilt decorated covers laid on. Hinges holding well, half of rear free endpaper missing. Some mild foxing to printed leaves, but plates quite clean overall. A decent copy in spite of the flaws. Fair.

Albany, NY, Erastus H. Pease & Co. 1847. 1st. Three-Quarter Leather. First printing, this revised and enlarged edition. Pp. xiv, 498 + 12 ads, many ills. in text plus two full color plates, both with tissue guards, octavo format in burgundy boards, bound in three-quarters leather, gilt spine titles. Binding and hinges in excellent condition with no significant flaws, not faded or stained, just a bit worn through at tips. Rear joint has been neatly repaired. No significant wear to contents. Only significant flaw is damp stain affecting the bottom half of the leaves. Text is still easily readable. Interestingly, the color plates are not affected by the staining as they are on heavier stock. Priced according to condition. Good.
