'Modern Boy' was a boy's magazine that ran from 1928 until the start of the Second World War in 1939; it comprised 610 issues in that time. Twenty two annuals were also released by Modern Boy, including yearly annuals as well as annuals focusing on transport means such as this. The most famous stories from the Modern Boy magazines were the works of W. E. Johns, featuring Biggles, a pilot and adventurer.This first edition is profusely illustrated throughout with vignette illustrations and photographs. In a quarter cloth binding without a dust wrapper.
