The Case, Lockwood & Brainard Company, 1889. First Edition. Hardcover. Quarter calf with burgundy cloth boards. Full gilt spinal titles. Damp stained on bottom of front and rear board, slightly bleeding through to first and last several pages, but no significant damage. Top raised edge of calf from spine above gilt and board top edge-line is gone, wear to bottom edge with a small 1/8 inch square piece missing. Hinges and all signatures are tight. Some corner wear and bumping though retaining square. Previous Owner name inside front cover in red ink stamp, black ink stamp "271" on foot edge of pages. No other marks. Photos upon request. A very RARE volume and in wonderful condition, with leather spine (other than defect noted) is 98% extant and burgundy cloth is vibrant.. Very Good+ with no dust jacket.
