Murray, Colin.
Families Divided. The Impact of Migrant Labour in Lesotho.
Ravan 1981. 219pp paperback. Owners signature ffep. G-VG condition. ISBN: 9780869752036 Lesotho, once 'the granary of the Free State and part of the Cape Colony', eventually became an impoverished labour reserve. Mass labour migration destroyed family life in Lesotho as well as in Botswana, Swaziland, and the bantustans within South Africa. Why did the migrant labour system not end with political independence in these countries? Author examines this fundamental question in his historical study of Lesotho.
