Previous owner's signature to verso of the front board. Clear English text in double columns. First few leaves and last few leave with small corner losses (not affecting the text). Spine with 4 raised bands and the remains of an old brown leather title label. Armorial bookplate to the verso of the front board: "Richard Hopton of Can-frome in the County of Hereford Esqr. Printed title within double-ruled border, margins lightly stained. Clean English text throughout. Ending with: "Advertisement" to the recto of the last leaf. Less than half is by him, and that very defective. The "Wars of Paris" is spurious; the "Retreat of the Duke de Longueville" (p. 113-128) is by Saint-Evremond; the "Apologie for the Duke de Beaufort" is by Guillaume Girard.
