Amsterdam was one of the centres for Hebrew publications and Aaltsz was one of the few Catholic publishers there. The book is a well-organized practical guide to the basic principles of Hebrew and testimony to its didactic qualities are the many reprints until well into the second half of the nineteenth century." Johann David Michaelis (1717 - 1791) "was a member of a family which had the chief part in maintaining that solid discipline in Hebrew and the cognate languages which distinguished the University of Halle in the period of Pietism. He was a member of the Göttingen School of History" (Wikiepeia). His Chaldaica was first published in 1771. This appears to be a different setting of the same texts published in Rome in 1843 by Typis S. Congregationis De Propaganda Fide, with 166 pages
