¶ Le musee des Beaux-Arts de Nancy, qui conserve la plus belle et la plus complete collection Daum au monde, a choisi de mettre l'accent sur une periode particuliere de la celebre cristallerie : les annees 50. Si la production Art Nouveau a largement ete mise en valeur, celle de cette periode reste meconnue du grand public bien que riche d'innovations techniques, d'experiences et d'audaces stylistiques. L'ouvrage s'ouvre par une histoire tres documentee de la manufacture entre 1946 et 1961 et se poursuit en presentant, en echo a une selection de pieces ou ensembles de cristal remarquables, des photographies publicitaires de Pierre Jahan, des peintures (Alechinsky, Arp, Hantai, Van Velde..), sculptures et objets de mobilier et de design (Perriand, Prouve, Knoll..) qui illustrent l'inscription de Daum dans la dynamique esthetique des annees 1950.
