The text pages are clean and bright. The dust jacket is mostly clean and bright, but there is some light foxing to the reverse of the dust jacket, along with some light waviness to the bottom edge of the front panel. All four flap corners have been clipped. The rear panel of the dust jacket has toning, especially to the top rear edge, along with several very small spots of foxing, and one small semi-closed edge tear. "LeClaire Gowans Alger (May 20, 1898 – November 14, 1969) was an American writer better known under her pseudonym Sorche Nic Leodhas, or simply Sorche Leodhas. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, she was a sickly child, eventually being homeschooled. Alger was a known librarian, working from 1915 to 1966, while the imaginary Sorche was a storyteller.
