Contemporary quarter red morocco gilt, blue grained-cloth sides, sprinkled leaf-edges. Title-page browned and spotted with light occasional spotting thereafter. Author's signature to foot of tp and his ink amendments to text in a small neat hand. * The author was the son of William Hardwicke, the Staffordshire antiquary; this copy, "intended for the Hardwickes of Pattingham," contains addenda and corrigenda up to April 1896.
