Dent,, [1907]. 3 vols., [of 4], 8vo., First Edition thus, neat uniform contemporary signature on front free endpapers; original series de luxe binding of full maroon leatherette, upper boards elaborately blocked and lettered in gilt to an art deco design, backs gilt extra, gilt tops, radial corners, pictorial endpapers, marker ribbons, backstrips minimally chafed, a near fine copy. FIRST APPEARANCE IN EL. The EL full leatherette binding (1906-c.1917) faithfully reflects the art deco movement of the period. By far the most elegant of all the EL series bindings, it is notoriously fragile and seldom found in bright, sound state as here. VERY SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION.
