Collection of 9 Chicago Theatre Ticket Envelopes. 1930s
Chicago, Illinois. Apollo, Auditorium, Woods, Great Northern, Studebaker, Ravinia, Colonial, McVickers, and Princess Theatres. 1930, 1st Edition. No Binding. Ticket envelopes from 9 different Chicago theatres. Probably early 1930s. 2 1/2" x 4 1/4" inches. Obviously printed by the same company. Most are filled in with the family name "Henke of 1941 Osgood St." The collection has examples from the following theatres: Apollo, Auditorium, Woods, Great Northern, Studebaker, Ravinia, Colonial, McVickers, and Princess. The backs have ads for Brunswick Phonographs, Colosimo's "America's Most Famous Italian Restaurant" with "Refined Cabaret", Chicago Lake Front Bank, and Chapin Laundry Company. No tickets are included and no shows are named. Very Good.

Recently revived, the circus originally produced shows for 21 years, performing in Balboa Park and other local venues, and was founded in the Golden Hill neighborhood. Mostly as new, archive copies from the years 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. Very Good.

15 issues of-FARRELITE (In-house magazine of the Waterbury (Connecticut) Farrel Foundry & Machine Company.
Waterbury Farrel Foundry & Machine Company. 1950. Soft cover. 15 issues of this monthly magazine of about 12 pages, photo illustrated, plus two spares of the President Joseph M. Schaeffer memorial issue. Inner workings and social doings of the corporation. The early issues were President Schaeffer's personal copies, with his Addressograph label printed on. Seemingly random issues of the publication from 1950-1957. Also included the unique 5-page typed (and one smaller page handwritten) "Christmas cards received by JMS" list for 1955 of Mr Schaeffer, including addresses, mostly for other machinery firms in Conn. and worldwide, typed in black and red ink (tape repair to one page), probably secretarial. and one 8 x 10 glossy photo of Mr Schaeffer and an unidentified man overlooking machinery on what is probably the assembly floor. The latter two in a corporate envelope addressed to his widow. This material presumably descended in the president's family. Very Good.

Girl Revue and Girl Fotocade (Along with Girl Pagent) were essentially the same 6-per-year publication. 7 x 10 inch magazine with black and white artistic photos of nude women, certain hair airbrushed. No text except introductory paragraph regarding art. No date but 1940-1943 based on expiration date of a back issue offer in one. Good condition, with one 1/2" tear at top of spine on Revue #6, light rubbing on spines. Covers feature women from the waist up with colored-in lips and fingernails and banner above, 50 cents cover price. Issue #1 is assumed to be so by lack of number and no back issue offer. A light bit of a 'garage' scent, as copies of these were invariably stored there sometime in their existence. Good.
