You'LL Like Tokay Punch. A Satisfying Drink" Advertising Sign
San Francisco, Halpin Lithograph Company, Inc. 1920. Lithographed card stock sign with a string for hanging at the top, n.d. (ca 1920); 14 1/4 x 10 1/4; light wear to edges and corners; a minor spot to left margin; in very good condition. An early-Prohibition Era advertising sign, it featured a glass of purple soda - Tokay Punch - made of grape juice, sitting next to a vase of orange flowers. The bottom margin featured the slogan: "Non-intoxicating - Imitation - Artificially Colored and Flavored." It was created by the Halpin Lithograph Company, Inc. - a short-lived lithographic printer in San Francisco, who was known to operate between about 1914 and the early 1920s and mostly specialized in maps and local government publications. Very good .
