The binding is rubbed, bumped & faded. The head & tail of the spine are chipped with a tear to the head. viii & pages [9]-120. 1 full-page illustration & 6 plates, including a frontispiece, in black & white. There is scattered foxing & staining. Good.

A dog story for children, this book was originally published in 1798. Good .

Light brown cloth backed with a darker brown backstrip & spine, titled in silver on the spine with a vertical silver decorated roulette on the front and rear covers. Titled with a vignette of a dog in gilt on the front cover. The covers are rubbed and soiled with some speckling along the front edge of the front cover. [viii] & 65 pages, with a publisher's device decorating the title page. The rear hinge is starting. The pages have occasional soiling. Very good.
