(ca 1900); 4 x 3; pp. [20]; chromolithographed wraps; illustrated with engravings and lithographed plates; spotting mostly to back wrap; tiny nicks to tips of spine; in very good condition. Alfred Andersen founded his company in 1893, marketing household items and utensils and pattenting rosette, wafer, and heart-shaped waffle irons. He was actually not a manufacturer, choosing instead to job out the casting of his wares, but he was nevertheless, very successful. The current little booklet contained various recipes to go with his inventions, including Creamed Oysters on Rosettes, Fruit Sandwiches, and Krumb Kake. Very good .

First edition; 8 1/2 x 5 1/2; pp. [2], 3-77, [3]; salmon-colored paper over boards, printed and decorated in black and green; brown dust jacket with an elaborate vignette and title in black; illustrated with color lithographs and black & white images; thin strips of wear to bottom of boards; webbing showing between pp. 48 and 49 (text block solid); DJ with minor loss to tips of spine and corners; overall in very good condition. Part user's manual and part recipe book, it was published by the Frigidaire Corporation "especially for Frigidaire Automatic Refrigerators equipped with the Frigidaire Cold Control." It contained sections on setting cold control, freezing, etc. as well as chapters of salads, beverages, ice cream, mousses, and so on. Very good .

His current booklet presented convenient recipes for when one was on the move - camping, fishing, hunting, etc. Some of the more memorable ones included Irish Stew, Steak au Poivre (Beef or Venison or Moose!), Greased Pig Salad, and so on. Near fine .

A delightful collection of candy recipes, it was written by Ella "Nellie" Upton Leighton, wife of newspaperman and owner of the Tri-Weekly Star in Dixon, Illinois Dewitt Clinton Owen. It included Coffee Candy, Orange Straws, Butter Scotch, etc. Very good .

Second edition (first published in 1941); 9 1/4 x 6 1/4; pp. [12], 9-86, [54]; light-brown leatherette over boards, printed with Chinese characters in dark-brown; illustrated with frontis plate, several photographs, and numerous advertisements; small signature of previous owner to ffep; a bit of wear to corners and tips of spine; in very good condition. A great community cook book, it was prepared by the Chinese Women's Club of the International Institute to raise funds for national and world support of the Y.W.C.A. In addition to the variety of authentic Cantonese recipes for soups, seafood, noodles, dumplings, etc. it also included a section on table etiquette (no used chopsticks on the table cloth; no young people are served, until the elder persons have received their servings; no one, but the honor guest is seated facing the door; etc.). The last chapter contained a large table of ingredients, identified by their Chinese names, their transliterated forms, their English equivalent, and how they were sold (in bulk, in bottles, in strings, and so on). Very good .
