UNESCO World Heritage Committee has recognized Gros Morne Natl Park as an outstanding example of natural heritage of. unparallel geological interest andnatural beauty and in December 1987 confirmed it as a World Heritage Site. Gros Morne is Newfoundland's most famour mountain and at 2644 feet the island's second highest mountain in the very center of the National Park. The fine trail that leads to its top and around by the side valley is an arguous full day's hike with varying weather, almost ay wildlife, and once on top scan a great deal of the Park's terrain.
