Pinxter Digt an mijn Seerwaarde Ouders [Wish card, Pentecost]

Wish card of Pentecost; Engraved frame with handwritten text. The wreath is a rough copy after that realized by Monogrammist IFL [see Rijksmuseumprentkabinet RP-P-OB-77.689], in same direction. Virgin Mary is kneeling in the center at the bottom of the page, surrounded by the apostles, all receiving the Holy Ghost in shape of a flame above their heads. The decoration continues on the sides with floreal motives closed above by two putti holding two branches. In the center a dove representing the Holy Ghost. Outside the frame on the bottom, portion of landscape with trees and bushes. The print is numbered above on the right: '66'. The text is a very nice exercise of calligraphy. The poem reads: 'Pinxter Digt / an Mijn / Seerwaarde Ouders / Alzoo nu elk van geest / ... Daar hij in woon en eeuwig blijf / onderdanige oon / Pieter Coelemey'. l Broadside sheet .
