Set in Umbria, Unsworth introduces a host of characters who collide with each other with overlapping stories of deceit and greed. Main characters include Professor Monti and a cunning lawyer named Mancini. Barry Unsworth (1930-2012) was an English writer. He was particularly well-known for his historical fiction, and published 17 novels in his lifetime. One of his novels, 'Sacred Hunger', won the Man Booker Prize in 1992.Collated, complete. In the original cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with no noticeable faults. Dust wrapper is excellent with minimal edge wear to the top edge of wraps.
