The first edition for all. Three volumes. Signed to the title page to 'Tomorrow a Stranger' with an inscription to the front free endpaper; "In gratitude to our able chairman, Bill, all best wishes - Elma, Swanwich 1962".In the original publisher's cloth with the original unclipped dust wrappers to all but 'Tomorrow a Stranger' which is clipped.This set features three riveting thrillers, including;'The Trouble in Thor', a story about a small mining town with hidden mysteries and violence, 'Tomorrow a Stranger', a crime thriller following Cara Lorton and the mysterious notes she finds before a murder is committed, 'Death Takes a Dive', an action packed thriller about a man who is asked to perform a task by the Navy which has lead other divers to go missing or die. In the original publisher's cloth with the original unclipped dust wrappers to all but 'Tomorrow a Stranger' which is clipped. Externally lovely to 'Thor' and 'Tomorrow a Stranger&apos. Externally smart to 'Death Takes a Dive' with loss to the head of the spine, marks and offsetting from tape to the heads and tails of the boards. Further offsetting to endpapers. The wraps are generally smart with marks, closed tears, creasing and loss to the head of the spine to 'Death Takes a Dive' with offsetting to the rear and verso. In a beautiful binding which is reminiscent of both Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau. Richard Rowley was the pseudonym for Richard Valentine Williams. He wrote many poems, plays and stories. 'The City of Refuge' is one of his early poems which celebrates industry. This is the first and only edition of this work.  In a full crushed morocco binding, with gilt stamping to the boards and spine. Externally, smart. Light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Front hinge is slightly strained but firm. Former owner's inscription to the front endpaper has been excised. Internally, generally firmly bound. Page 49-50 are detached but present. Pages are bright with just the odd spot. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
