In the original publisher's brown cloth binding, with gilt lettering to the front and to the spine.This is a limited edition of the work, with three hundred and twenty copies printed on fine paper. In this work, Randall Davies explores the history of Chelsea Old Church, a historical, Grade I listed building, constructed in the 12th century. This Anglican church is part of the Church of England, being a parish for the Diocese of London. It is also known as All Saints Church, located near Albert Bridge in Chelsea. Davies incorporates many different details surrounding this church, including the monuments, the church goods and furniture, as well as the connection to religious figures, such as Sir Thomas Moore. Davies also includes information on Chelsea at the time, with history on the local Manor House, which was linked to the church. With eighteen illustrative plates throughout, including a frontispiece of the church from 1788. Collated, complete. With a library bookplate of Saint Mary's Abbey, Buckfast, to the front paste down.
