¶ An account of the author's time as a prisoner of war during World War One - Yeats Brown saw action in France and in Mesopotamia, where he flew with the Royal Flying Corps. In 1915, his plane was damaged upon landing during a sabotage mission near Baghdad. He was subsequently captured by the Turkish Army and spent the following two years as a prisoner of war. He would become better know for his account of his time in India between 1905 - 1914 which was published under the title 'The Lives of a Bengal Lancer'. Major Francis Charles Claypon Yeats-Brown, DFC [ 1886 - 1944 ] served in the British Indian Army & RFC. Major Edward Milner [ 1858 - 1937 ] who, during the Great War, served with the 10th Battalion King's Royal Rifles, and in 1915 was appointed Staff Captain.
