Samuel de Champlain (c. 1580 –1635) "The Father of New France", was a French navigator, cartographer, draughtsman, soldier, explorer, geographer, ethnologist, diplomat and chronicler. He founded Quebec City on July 3, 1608, and served as its administrator for the rest of his life. Morris Gilbert Bishop (1893 –1973) was an American scholar, historian, biographer, author, and humorist. In a cloth binding in the original dustwrapper. The binding is tight and firm. There is slight wear to the extremities, including bumping. The dustwrapper has several closed tears, a couple of which have been repaired with tape on the reverse side.
